A moda da Legging / Legging’s issue

PT: Caros leitores, este post pode ofender susceptibilidades. No entanto, sejamos francos, há coisas que precisam de ser ditas e, sobretudo, que precisam de ser ouvidas. A moda das leggings - ou moda da legging como a ela gosto de me referir - transformou a sociedade e as noções estilísticas pelas quais ela se regia. Na realidade, há que dar o crédito a esta peça de roupa que veio desafiar a mais básica das regras do vestir.

A legging veio perguntar “o que é que são, afinal, calças?” e deixou meio mundo com a pulga atrás da orelha. O público, atualmente, ainda se encontra bastante dividido acerca de que resposta dar a esta questão. Algumas pessoas, os mais conservadores talvez, defendem que as leggings não são calças e só podem ser usadas com uma peça superior e cubra o rabiosque. A extrema direita irá ao ponto de dizer que são apenas meias-calças e não têm qualquer privilégio de calças. Já a ala esquerda, mais liberal e menos conservadora, advoga a favor de critérios como a transparência, o tecido, o comprimento para categorizar a legging mais para o lado das meias-calças ou mais para o lado das calças. Mas, de mencionar sem falta, é a ala mais liberal do leque partidário que jura a pés juntos que a legging deve ser assumida em igualdade com as calças e que é comportamento discriminatório impedir que se usem assim.

Afinal de contas, há bastante confusão acerca de que posição tomar. Talvez eleições ou um referendo fossem medidas a ter em conta para ajudar a sociedade a definir a posição da legging no guarda-roupa. Parece exagero? Caro leitor, asseguro-lhe que não é e posso explicar porquê.

But, what we should absolutely mention is the far-left wing that swears to its grave that leggings must be assumed as trousers and to behave otherwise is discriminatory behaviour.

In the end, there’s still pretty much mixed feelings about this. Maybe elections, or a referendum, should be considered to help society defining a position on the leggings dilemma. Sounds over the top? Dear reader, I assure you it is not and I can explain why.

Definitive positioning of leggings in one of the two categories would have the great advantage of removing the surprise element. Yes, because leggings are see through and they show the thong and the bum when that unexpected person on the supermarket bends over to get something that fell off their cart. If you define that leggings can be used without the convencional long shirt or coat, we would be prepared for this vision. In the other hand, if the veredict went the other way and the leggings were, finally, renegated to the tights class, the market would benefit enormously from all the people that would have to actually buy pants!That’s why I say, reader, dear reader, that the leggins issue is not to be undervalued and elections would be, definitely, a measure to consider.
